THE DOCUMENT

The clauses below explain our commitments and the responsibilities and choices relevant to this website. Select a clause in the contents list to jump directly to it.

01

About this Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy applies to the Olum4Africa website and should be read alongside the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. It describes the present application configuration, technical dependencies and choices available to website visitors.

We aim to be transparent about the technologies involved in providing the website rather than presenting an unnecessary consent banner when the application does not deploy optional analytics or advertising cookies.

02

Cookies and related technologies

A cookie is a small item of data that a website or service may ask a browser to store and return with later requests. Cookies may support sessions, security, preferences, performance measurement or advertising depending on their purpose.

Related technologies include browser storage, scripts, service-worker caches, tracking pixels and network identifiers. Not every external request sets a cookie, and not every technical interaction involves tracking.

Cookies may be described as session cookies, which usually expire when the browsing session ends, or persistent cookies, which may remain for a specified period. They may be first-party or third-party depending on the service setting them.

03

Current website configuration

The Olum4Africa application does not intentionally install advertising trackers, behavioural analytics cookies, account-session cookies or an optional-cookie consent management script. There is no user account login or personalised advertising function on the public website.

Our hosting and security provider may use essential technical controls to deliver pages and protect forms against spam or abuse. Such controls can change as the provider updates its service. The absence of cookies configured by our own application code is not a representation that every infrastructure component makes no use of browser identifiers.

04

Essential website delivery and security

Netlify hosts the website, serves static pages and, where form detection is enabled, processes Contact page enquiries. Its infrastructure and associated security services may generate request logs or use technical measures necessary to respond to abuse and operate the service.

The website includes a honeypot field in the enquiry form to reduce automated spam. Other spam-filtering measures may be applied by the hosting provider. These controls are intended to protect the website and its communication channels.

Because provider-side technical measures can depend on configuration, an exact live cookie inventory requires examination of the deployed website and relevant provider settings.

05

Externally delivered fonts

This website uses the Fraunces and Manrope typefaces. They are currently loaded through Google Fonts. When a browser requests these assets, Google may receive technical connection information such as an IP address and browser-related request information.

A font request does not itself establish that this application is operating an advertising tracker. Google’s processing and retention are governed by the policies applicable to its services. You can obtain information about Google’s privacy practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

06

Analytics, advertising and optional tracking

We do not currently configure Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or comparable behavioural advertising trackers within this website. We do not use enquiry-form information to create advertising audiences through the website.

If optional analytics, embeds or advertising technologies are introduced, we will review their purposes, required disclosures and applicable consent arrangements before enabling them. Visitors will be provided with appropriate choices where the law requires them.

07

Third-party links and embedded content

Following a link away from Olum4Africa may take you to a separate website that uses its own cookies and tracking practices. That website’s operator determines its own purposes and controls.

The current site does not embed an interactive third-party video player or map on its public pages. If those features are added, the technologies they load will be evaluated and described in an updated policy.

08

Managing cookies and browser preferences

Most modern browsers provide settings to inspect, block or delete cookies and to clear website storage. You may also use browser privacy controls to restrict third-party requests, although strict blocking can affect the functioning of some external services.

The current application does not offer categories of optional analytics or advertising cookies to enable or disable, so it does not display a preference-selection banner for those categories. If we introduce such technologies, an appropriate choice mechanism will be considered before activation.

You can review your browser provider’s documentation for instructions about managing cookies and site permissions.

09

Personal information and safeguards

Technical information collected in connection with browser requests may constitute personal data where it identifies or can be associated with an individual. Our Privacy Policy explains categories of information, purposes of processing, service providers, relevant rights and how to submit a privacy request.

A website visit does not provide a basis for us to disregard applicable Ugandan data-protection requirements or to use technical identifiers for unrelated purposes.

10

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may revise this Policy when the website’s technologies, service providers, tracking practices or applicable requirements change. The version and update date at the start of this document identify the current text.

Material changes involving optional tracking will be assessed in light of any required notice or consent before those technologies are deployed.

11

Questions and further information

If you have a question about browser technologies or believe your information is being processed incorrectly through this website, use the Contact page and describe the concern.

For more information about personal data and your rights, read the Privacy Policy. For broader rules on using the Website, read the Terms of Use.
